Astrological Pentagrams

In My Divine Feminine Imprint, I described some of the insights I found exploring the divine feminine imprint on me through the pentagrams of my chart.   For those who would like to understand how I did that, here are the instructions using my Venus as an example.

Creating a Template

I'm sure there is software that will do this for you and I wouldn't mind having one myself.  However, I don't have one so I drew it out.  I also found the exercise of drawing it out helpful in getting to know the pentagrams of my chart more firmly.   I recommend doing at least a few this way.

Option 1

I found an image with a quick google search of a blank astrology chart.  I printed it, cut the extra white off around it and oriented the chart to where my rising sign shows up on the left-hand side.  Next, I added in all the planets and points of my chart around the outside.   Then I had a template to copy to draw the star for each planet.

Option 2

Print out your natal chart from any site that provides free natal charts.  Cut out the middle with the pre-filled aspect lines.  This provides an open space to draw your stars.  Here is my chart with the Venus pentagram drawn in.

Mapping the Pentagrams

Add the five points of the star to the chart.  My Venus is at 3 degrees Virgo. I started there and added 72 degrees to find each point in the pentagram.  I found it easier to jump two signs (60 degrees) and add 12.

Point 1. Virgo 3, Jump two signs to Scorpio and add 12

Point 2. Scorpio 15, Jump two signs to Capricorn and add 12

Point 3 Capricorn 27, Jump two signs to Pisces and add 12 which crosses into Aries

Point 4 Aries 9, Jump two signs to Gemini and add 12

Point 5 Gemini 21

Draw the lines to every other point, making the lines of a star.  You now have one of your pentagrams.

I started doing the pentagram for Sun, Moon, Rising and Venus and ended up doing them all.   If you do them all, making one all in chart can be a powerful way to see all together.

I recommend making a list (I am Virgo Rising) of all the points in each sign and/or house.  This will provide an easy reference for transits and to see other patterns.

Note Other Planets on the Pentagram

I use a two-degree orb unless there is a possibility of a fully lit up pentagram then I use 5, maybe more.  A friend of my has a pentagram with planets/positions on all 5 points of the star when using 5 degrees.  That was exciting to see.  In my Venus example, I have two plaents/points in the mix.  My Venus is conjunct my South Node.  Chiron sits at Aries 10.   When you go to the place of Conversing with the Energies, this will add layers and nuances that can tell you so much.

Pick the Energies You Want to Work With

I included the sign, house, and decans. Three is another divine feminine number.  I was drawn to work the combination of three energies.  If you want to simplify you could just do sign and house or even just sign.

                                             Sign.              House.    Decan

Point 1 (Venus, S. Node).         Virgo 3            Twelfth    Virgo

Point 2                                  Scorpio 15       Second    Pisces

Point 3                                  Capricorn 27   Fourth      Virgo

Point 4 (Chiron Aries 10)         Aries 9           Seventh    Aries

Point 5                                  Gemini 21       Ninth        Aquarius

Qualities of Energy of the Houses and Signs

Find or make a reference for the qualities of the signs and houses.   References are easily found with a Google search.  I drew heavily on the work of Heidi Rose Robbins' Charting Your Course.  I have spent a fair amount of time exploring the energies of my chart for a couple of years.  Still, I found the beautiful way Heidi lays out this course really deepened the experience.   It is also a wonderful reference for emploring other components of you chart.

If you are drawn at all to Earth-centered spiritual practices, I recommend noting the element as well.

Converse with the Energies of Your Pentagrams

Pick a quiet space where you can breathe into the moment and allow yourself to listen for the energies.   Write sentences for each point utilizing the concepts and words for that sign or hous.e in your reference.  Let yourself try out differeint combinations and pharasing to see if there is something that reveals itself to you in the new words. I found it helpful to let it sit for a few days and come back and revisit it.  Play with these words to see how they inform how you show up in the world, meditate on them, journal, talk with like minded souls.

Here is the message of Venus to me through the 5 points of her pentagram.

Point 1: Divine beauty (Venus) flows forth (Twelfth House) from me when I devote myself (Virgo) to the natural order and lead and heal as a priestess (Virgo).  Calling in Land (Earth) and Water.

Point 2: Divine beauty (Venus) manifests abundantly (Second House) when I go deep inside (Scorpio) and flow forth (Pisces) from there.  Calling in Water and Land (Earth)

Point 3: Divine beauty (Venus) flows forth (Fourth House) when I provide (Capricorn) a safe space (Fourth House) for embodied wellness (Virgo) for myself and others.  Calling in Land (Earth) and Water.

Point 4 Divine beauty (Venus) emanates forth when I relate to others (Seventh House) with my whole self (Aries) bravely and with daring (Aries)  Calling in Fire and Air

Point 5: Divine beauty (Venus) vibrates in (Gemini) when I envision (Ninth House) building bridges (Gemini) with authenticity (Aquarius). Calling in Air and Fire

I am supported when I let go of what I've experienced, mastered and completed (South Node) and share and mentor others from the place of my own healing (Chiron).

Play with It

Like all practices, it is most impactful when you make it your own.  Play with it.
